“Barnard Castle has proven a resilient High Street over recent months and we are very fortunate to work closely with a number of local Landlords and business owners.
We recently introduced Crew Clothing, a national retailer specialising in British casual clothing and fashion, to the former home of the Teesdale Mercury (24 Market Place). This followed the re-letting of 9 Horsemarket (adjacent to Greggs) to a regional brow/ beauty business following a comprehensive Landlord refurbishment. We are also “under offer” on two prominent town centre properties with further announcements to follow.
We were delighted to complete the retirement sale of Star Cobblers (business) on behalf of our client Mr Andrews who is well known across the town having owned and operated the business for decades. The transaction was not without its challenges but it was particularly satisfying to secure an experienced owner operator for the business ensuring Barnard Castle is well served with cobbling and key cutting services for generations to come.
We are currently consulting across a handful of lease renewal matters across the Market Place including a number of well know national retailers who we are expecting should cement their commitment to the town.
