Government Reveals Major House Buying Reforms

The Government has unveiled plans for a significant overhaul of the home buying and selling process in England and Wales, aimed at making transactions faster, more transparent and less likely to fall through.

The proposed reforms include providing more property information upfront, introducing greater certainty earlier in the transaction process, and reducing the risk of issues such as gazumping and failed sales.

With around one in three property transactions currently collapsing before completion, the changes are intended to give buyers and sellers greater confidence while helping to reduce delays and unnecessary costs.

While details and implementation timescales are still being developed, the proposals represent one of the most significant changes to the conveyancing process in recent years.
