Our Story
For more than thirty years, Carvers has been a trusted name in the region’s property market. Our story began in 1991, when Nick Carver opened the first office in Darlington. Joined soon after by Gordon Carver, the pair built what would become one of the North’s most respected independent estate agencies, a name recognised across County Durham, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire.
Three decades on, our foundations remain the same: local knowledge, professional standards, and an approach that values relationships as much as results. Now led by brothers James and Henry Carver, our business continues to evolve, combining modern marketing with the traditional values that have always defined us.
Our key strength lies in our people. Many of our senior team have spent most of their careers with Carvers, guiding clients through every stage of their property journey, from first homes to major investments. With offices in Darlington, Richmond, Northallerton and Newton Aycliffe, our local presence and experience make Carvers a trusted choice for families, landlords and businesses alike.
Beyond residential sales and lettings, Carvers also includes dedicated commercial property and surveying divisions, giving clients access to expert advice under one roof. Our surveying team provides RICS-registered valuations and building surveys, while our commercial department, led by Director and Chartered Surveyor Chris Farlow, supports regional businesses and investors with acquisitions, lettings and development consultancy.
